Interesting overview. Though one other thing worth considering is the
ongoing availability (or not) of maps. Navman's mapping software is
apparently unique for each model, and the problem is that Navman have
more discontinued models than Ford and Holden combined. They therefore
aren't sup****ting their past models equally. It took them months to
get a 2006 version of the maps that worked with the Navman PiN series,
and it wouldn't surprise me if that's the last update ever for that
model. (I note that there are 2007 maps listed for some of Navman's
models, but not the PiNs.)

This is probably why they're offering a trade-in on older models at
the moment, but as far as I'm concerned that can fornicate themselves;
there's no way that I'm buying another Navman in the hope that maybe,
if they're feeling generous, they'll sup****t it for more than one
mapping update cycle.

TomTom have a mere three models in the market at the moment, so
there's a better chance of those being sup****ted for longer.
