feather the edge of the chip with a small ball of steel wool
apply prepsol or metho
take your can of touch-up paint to a paint place that also sells car
paint,
(not sure who that might be in Perth but the local "3D" paint place here
does it) they usually have a service where they will make "made to order"
pressure pack spray cans, so much easier than setting up compressors and
spray guns etc.
if its a deep chip/scratch/ding then get some fini****ng bog (it comes in a
tube for small jobs and usually with its own rubber squeegee) a light sand
with 1000 grit wet and dry (wet is best) when dry, mask the anything you
don't want to paint and spray evenly, a couple of coats is best, with an
hour between. remove masking, wait 24 hours then sand out any hard lines
you
may have left from the masking tape (finest wet and dry you can find) I
usually then use a fine cutting compound (after 48 hrs) on the area, and a
good wax based polish for the entire car and unless your really looking,
you
shouldn't even notice the chip/s.
