Colour codes _never_ give a perfect match (usually far from it). Much
better to have a paint oulet (eg a crash repair supplier) do a colour
match in their minimum quantity (typically 1 litre). Alternatively,
they might make up a matched pressure pack if you prefer to that way.
You'll need to provide a piece of the car (or the car itself) for a
colour match (fuel filler cap or the likes).

Prepsol ought be fine so long as no rust has formed. If the etch coat
has been damaged you should avoid getting it wet (with water) before
repairing it.

Ideally you shouldn't apply a wax polish to any finish until it's
fully dried (ie you can't smell the solvent). Typically two weeks or
more.

The crash repair supplier should have decent touch up brushes that are
much better than a nail polish brush. They're fine for small areas...
especially if you thin the lacquer before you apply it (for which
you'll need good quality lacquer thinners (better to avoid the multi
purpose stuff). For larger areas a touch up gun, air brush, or
pressure pack (in that order of preference) is preferable. Ideally
you should replace the clear coat as well on the larger areas.

Larger area will need better preparation. You'll also need to get rid
of all traces of wax before you spray (particularly difficult if
you've been using a silicone wax).
