I've heard the 2.6 lt Rodeo 4cyl is a dog, my sons work had a 4cyl Rodeo 
and everyone who drove it hated it.
If you are in Melb. my son has a 95 2WD twin cab 2.4lt petrol auto Hilux 
for sale which is in your price range.
