The one "Orphan" size I remember well was on I think a Ford LTD with a
390mm 
instead of a 15" You could only get Michelin in that size and they were
$360 
each compared with $100 for a Kelly in the 15". A lot of our customers
were 
advised to buy some good looking mag wheels and swap sizes, if you kept
the 
car long enough to need a second set you made all your money back in 
savings, not to mention what happens if you needed a replacement in 
Birdsville or somewhere even more remote.
A while ago now but memorable.
