Thanks for the tips. The guy who owns it is a bit of a mechanic (he's a
farmer, does most of his own maintenance) and has a bit of an idea of
things mechanical (he's also done electro-mechanical engineering at Monash
Uni). He said that he can't hear anything untowards. I'll speak to him
regarding the oil sender unit/pressure switch next time I see him.
Whatever, it all hangs on his missus. He'd like to get rid of it but she
says, "why? It runs fine.".
So, we'll see. If not his, and that'd be prefereable as I have an idea of
its history, plus it's on gas and he doesn't want a fortune for it, as
most sellers seem to do (they want to flog their own cars for ten times
what they're worth but expect you to give yours away when they offer to
buy it).
