I used to have a vacuum bleeder - connect it to the bleed
valve and pull the trigger a few times until fluid flowed in
without bubbles - of course needed to keep an eye on the
reservoir to make sure it didn't empty. Made things a hell
of a lot quicker than pumping the pedal.
Also some cars have a bleed valve at the master cylinder,
distribution points etc - bleed it at these first before you
go to the slave cylinder.
If you've had a line disconnected, good chance air got into
some of the other lines too, so you'll probably have to
bleed all slaves, not just the one you changed. At the very
least the other front will probably need to be done.
In some cases bleed valves will leak air. If this is
happening and you are using the pumping method, tighten the
bleed valve before the brakes are released, otherwise you
will never get it bled.
Hope this helps.
