It is entirely possible, that what is causung the low OP light, is just
caused by an engine which has general wear at all oil-pressure fed
bearings,
and that while it maybe a little disconcerting, there are many kilos left
on
her. If its quiet, just drive it till the light starts to stay on a bit
longer. They are very strong engines, and I suspect you'll have a very
good
run before you need to chuck in a second-handy :-)

We had an XT 200 cube Falcon p/van at work which was driven by everybody,
including almost full throttle drags out west. That car had regular maint,
and clock3ed up 94,000 miles before replacement. The engine was a bit
slappy
in the pistons,..but nothing else. Damn good cars the 6s which to this day
use a block modelled closely on the early Falcons.
