Oh yeah, {turbo} diesel is the only way to go, there just
is so many advantages to it.
Also no spark plugs, ignition system or anything like
that to set up. In our climate don't usually need the
glow plugs to work. Can use just about any fuel you have
at the time - can even use petrol (up to around 40% mixed
in something of high cetane - petrol is lower energy content,
so not as good)
Injection pump timing is critical. That is all you really need
to worry about. Oil changes filter/fuel filter may be more frequent
depending on fuel used.
