You're probably right. I don't know the exact specifics of what is
wrong, I can only describe a sound - and it sounds like trying to
select reverse at 60km/h. That grinding sound when trying to force two
cogs together.
I shouldn't speak ill of my mechanic because 99% of his customers just
want him to do whatever he can to get them back on the road hopefully
without costing a cent. Like a MacGuyver mechanic. So when I come
along and tell him to replace something with a brand new part it
doesn't really click to him that that's exactly what I want him to do.
It was just soul destroying to have finally found the time to leave
the Hilux with him only to turn up at the end of the day, turn the key
and hear *krkrkrkrkrkrk* again right in his fikn driveway.
