More likely the manufacturer is called upon to produce something at a 
price which suddenly blows out of all pro****tion as a spare part or the 
manufacturer is supplied a part such as a bearing for instance that is 
used in many assemblies over many makes and models, thus keeping the 
price down, for the vehicle manufacturer, not the apart part buyer. 
Did you ever use a supplier called Im****t Advantage? Could supply me with 
parts at less than half when owning something that genuine came in a 
brightly coloured box. The part was exactly the same apart from it being 
in a different coloured box that came from the maker of that part. The 
vehicle manufacturer probably engineers the specs for the box. 
Heard of mass production and how much saving a few dollars on the 
assembly line can effect company bottom line. Oh *****d if I know what 
I'm talking about now.
