2H 3850 diesel gets a vacuum diaphragm that reacts to manifold pressure
which in turn controls the mixture.
Starting is achieved by an electric motor that winds the unit to full
rich then drops the mixture towards lean on of all things a timing
circuit. That's during cranking and works on the presumption that the
heaters are up to the jobbie. The Diaphragm is 'sprung' and so is quite
capable of exhibiting harmonic motion, resulting in stupidity from the
mixture.
I 'suspect' I need to replace the diaphragm and spring-set to have the
mixture exhibit some sort of stability, since time would defo be the
enemy of the diaphragm....
The effect would likely be the equivalent of you not bracing your foot
against the kick-panel on biggish bumps in the HiLuxen.
