Yep, there are some absolute **** quality tyres on the market these 
days. I drove a vehicle with brand new 'Antyre' (sp?) brand tyres and 
the car was nothing short of scary to drive in the wet.
Absolutely bugger all traction on wet bitumen, if you had to stop 
suddenly, well you wouldn't be able to.
I had the arse slide out at approx. 35kmh going around a bend in Sydney 
traffic, I controlled it but the rear of the car did slide into the 
adjacent lane - luckily no one was there at that time... would never 
have happened with any decent tyre.

I can only assume there are little or no standards or tests done in 
Australia for tyres... or there is a way to cir***vent the laws.
Tyres like these should never be allowed to sell here.
