In a strange, sick similarity, I saw a guy in a wheelchair get hit by a
bus
years ago, and it was kinda funny.
Seeing him get hit by the bus wasn't the funny bit obviously, but watching
him realise he was about to get flattened and try to get away from the bus
was pretty amusing in a sick & twisted kind of way. He was crossing a busy
road and shot out from behind a parked car and didn't even know the bus
was
there until it locked it's brakes and got his attention. What he did next
was the funny bit.
Instead of backing up or hurrying straight across the road to get out of
it's path (in which case he would have made it), he turned to the same
direction as the bus was travelling and tried to outrun it. Seeing him
push
those wheels around so fast you could almost see smoke coming off the
tyres
was funny in a "Benny Hill" kind of way, combined with the genuine
disbelief
of what he was attempting to do.
He put in a good showing, but the bus won.
