If the remote works close to the car but not further away, there are 2
possibilities. One is that it's got water inside it, the other is that
it needs a new battery.
The Falcon remote is a push-together design. There is a small groove
at the end away from the keyring loop, which is used to pop the halves
apart. Pop it apart and there will be a lithium battery inside.
It there is moisture in the remote, leave it open in a warm spot for a
few hours to dry. Not that I'm not saying hot, just warm enough to
eva****ate the moisture without being hot enough to damage anything.
If the remote is dry inside and playing up, buy a new battery. There
will be a size code (LR something) on the battery and replacements can
be bought just about anywhere that sells batteries...
If the remote is not working at all, you may need to go through the
re-learn process on the car. It's in the owners manual and involves
pressing the rear demist button 3 times in a row, then pressing the
lock and unlock buttons on each remote that you want working with the
car. I've done it on my Falcon but I don't remember the steps
exactly.
