Exactly.

These kinds of stories pop up every now and then to get a bit of hype 
happening when nothing else is going on. The last one I remember was
centred 
around used tyres, and how "dangerous" they could be.

To highlight the point they featured "dramatic footage" of a used tyre 
fitted to a test machine that exploded in tremendous fa****on, and they 
captured it from a number of angles to make sure you "got it". Of course, 
what they neglect to tell the viewer is that a condition had been set to 
ensure the tyre would blow by running the thing on the test at it's
maximum 
pressure, maximum speed, maximum weight loading and on a stinking hot
roller 
for about three hours.

Conditions that 99.99% of tyres in the country are never likely to see,
and 
a ****ing brand new tyre would pop doing that too :)
