I'm more concerned about the heat rating of tyres.
That used to be something of concern for the people selling tyres - but a 
few years back IIRC, it became a non-event - they don't officially have 
to give a stuff what hear range tyres are sold into whatever application.

And guess what the problem was with the Ford Exploders in the US?

Effectively you can be sold a tyre with a completely inappropriate rating 
any time and there is no protection at legislation for you in the least.
Unfortunately there are plenty of places/times in Australia where a high 
temp rating tyre is absolutely required.
I wonder of those imbeciles at monash have trawled the stats for SV flips 
in hot weather as opposed to colder weather. Remember, they keep telling 
us our peak roadkilling period is summer. 
And then in combination with possibly incorrectly spec'd tyres for 
highway hot conditions for cars sold and usually driven to and from wurk 
in the cities, there's the tyre inflation thing.
Apparently the Yankees are onto that - IIRC, either now or soon, all new 
cars have to be fitted with tyre pressure monitors.
Funny - it's not even trundled out as an extra cost factory option here, 
even though it's certain the stuff is available off the shelf so to speak 
for all manufactures either based in the US or ex****ting to the Yanks.
methinks the manufacturers, our good friends, are ****ing themselves 
about the piffling expense of these toys right about now.
