OT: Cutting steel (redux)

by "Trevor Wilson" <trevor@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 15, 2008 at 12:09 PM

I returned the Trojan branded 9" grinding disks to Bunnings yesterday, for
a
full refund. I spoke to the guy from the tool department and his words
were
(to paraphrase):

"When the price is not too dissimilar to the Aussie made equivalent, I
would
not touch that Chinese rubbish".

I purchased a couple of Flexovit disks (Aussie made) and they cut my steel

perfectly and quickly. The cost of the Flexovit disks was $3.67 each. The
cost of the Chinese disks was around $3.10 each.

BTW: The reason I did not buy Flexovit disks in the first place, was that
the Bunnings outlet I went to, had no disks with a 22.2mm mounting hole.
