Nowhere near.

I bought a new old stock set of bonnet & boot bumpers for my Falcon a few 
weeks ago, and while I'm sure the composition of the material isn't
exactly 
the same as a car tyre they're rubber just the same. They're still in
their 
original blue & white striped cardboard box (which is probably worth more
to 
a collector than anything else) and they have "XL" part numbers which
means 
they date from 1962 at least.

They still look, smell and feel like new.
