It seems (correctly), that Subaru has foreseen the attractiveness of the
wrex and other models too perhaps, for the thieves. Going by what you have
said, I'd approach the situation of the OP this way. Disconnect the
alternator, this will leave the battery to maintain the relevant cuicuits.
Then, place a trickle-charger across the battery. These can be got for
around $25 at BigW a few yrs back when I bought one. Now the battery can
be
kept up to charge, and then later, it will be a simple matter of
disconnecting the TCharger and re-connecting the alternator.
