And they most likely would have been in perfect condition as well.

When I was restoring the Jeep I found NOS parts from suppliers all over
the 
world, and the original packaging on most of it was phenonemal. Things
like 
a NOS carburettor which was coated in cosmoline, wrapped in greae paper
and 
then placed into a heavy cardboard box that was then submerged in a wax
type 
substance that completely sealed it. It was so tough that I virtually had
to 
cut the box open with a hacksaw, and it would have survived for a couple 
hundred years at the bottom of the ocean without being affected I'd recon.

Yeah, they were an excellent tyre.

I've had a pair of 265/65-15's for ages and they'll fill the rear tubs on 
the XP just nicely on some 8 inch wheels.
