And doesn't mean it doesn't, just as I said. If it's cost affective to
have
them structurally analysed and tested, go for it.

It is called grease paper because it *IS* impregnated with grease or
similar
compounds.
Did you think it was just normal paper waved with a magic wand?

Not when all you require is to keep the rims off the ground I guess.

I'd even be worried to share the road with such a moron.

What *you'd* expect and reality are two different things unfortunately.

No argument there.

What a load of crap. It's exactly that kind of stupidity that creates so
many laws trying to protect people from themselves.

As I would expect. So why are you proud of the fact?

I'll bet even it's woeful brakes could tax those tyres in the wet.

Yep, but I thought you said a Jeep, not a model T in any case?
I actually know someone with a model T, and he would not risk his baby on
50YO cracked tyres giving way.

I already acknowledged it was unsafe at any speed no matter what tyres
were
fitted. However I will bet money there was a measureable difference in the
wet with new Vs 50YO tyres.

All the people forced to share the road (and their lives) with such
vehicles.

We can only hope.

So all this blathering is rather pointless then. Vehicles not used on the
road would not be affected by legislation.

And yet you claim there is no difference.

What you expect bears no link with reality obviously. However I would
expect
10YO Yoko 352's to be a little better than 50YO X-ply bar treads, even if
you can't tell the difference :-)

The real question is at what point they become unsafe. And that depends on
so many factors besides age, that just banning tyres after 5 or ten years
is
nearly as stupid as using 50YO tyres on public roads.
