Bleeding power streeing pump

by Jack <jackNOSPAM@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 17, 2008 at 01:38 AM

The power steering rack on my 2002 T&C was leaking, it was replaced at
the dealer. When I drove the car from the dealer the power steering had
a slight shutter when turning, the shutter would be intermittent and
light, I took the car back and the service manager told me that it would
take from 500 to 1000 miles to bleed the trapped air in the rebuild
system, I asked him to use a vacuum pump and bleed the system that way,
he took the back into the shop and when he returned few minutes later he
said that the mechanic checked the installation and all is well, all I
have to do is drive the car with the shutter for the next 1000 miles.

I have vacuum pump at home and would like to bleed the power steering
myself but I don't have the cap with the vacuum hose nipple, where can I
get one of those cheep.
