Well I took the plunge:
http://www.mustangmods.com/ims/u/1635/2567/232285.jpg
I just bought this car on Saturday April 5. '04 GTO. 350 hp 350 ci
LS1, automatic OD, black metallic w/red leather interior, 4-wheel
discs w/ABS, irs, pdl, pw, cruise, AC, 6-disc Blaupunkt CD AM/FM. One
owner car. Totally tight and rattle free. $15,000 from a used car
dealer in Richmond CA. They bought it at auction and put it up on
Autotrader, where it first popped up online on Friday.
It's true that GTO shopping is better in, e.g., Florida or
Pennsylvania or Texas, than on the West Coast. After three weeks I got
tired of the looking game and just got er done. I figure I can't go
wrong at $15K. I've put at least that much into upgrades on my '65
Mustang fb and my '70 Cougar, that I'd never get back at resale time.
Even if this $15k GTO depreciates 50% over the next five years
(unlikely) it's not that big a deal.
