Yes they are related or at least they can be. When the outer joint on the
drive axle gets worn it sometimes causes a ****mmy when accelerating and
also
will click when turning sharply one or the other. Replace the drive shaft
if
you can afford it and the problems will go away. Helpful to start a new
thread when you change the topic.  Now this axle problem is forever linked
with the subject of your original post.
