Thanks all for the advice on this unusual question,,,, or perhaps the
question wasn't as unusual as the 'way' it was asked.
Turns out (obviously) that wasn't my problem...... problem was a sudden
vibration in drive train.
It was the u-joint on the rear differential/ drive shaft - really strange
that it was an 'all of a sudden' thing. One of the 'shafts' under a
bearing
cap had a catastrophic failure - nearly half gone. :-/
