I have taken two dashes off and apart, and I don't think that you are 
going to be able to reach up there without removing more than the glove 
box.
There is solid metal tubing, plastic vent tubes, wiring, lots to get in 
the way in a small space. It may be possible, but it won't be easy.

How about a top side repair, maybe filling in the holes with quick-set 
epoxy so that the screws will have something to bite into again?
With the dash mat the repair doesn't have to be pretty, just secure and 
not raised very much.
