Ahhh, true.

My 4 banger Celica was able to do a lower rpm in 5th, and it had less 
power to weight than my last stock Miata did.
Too much comparing apples to oranges? It just seems like the Miata, 
especially once they raised it to the 1.8 liter, has enough torque to 
lower the top gear cruising rpm somewhat.

Of course, I don't get paid to design the most popular s****ts car in 
history either. ;-)
