Yeah, it has minimal torque, but it isn't pu****ng much weight either,

It helps to take the trip alone and be skinny, and I love the constant
high control of the car, but I agree, a larger car is more comfortable
on any extended trip as long as it is comfortable and has tight
steering. I can't believe that any road vehicles are still made where
you have to chase the steering.
I am sure, however, that the Miata seems smaller to you than it does to
me, since you are of the Giant race. ;-)
Still, over 3600 miles in 12 days in my '96M wasn't too bad, and it had
to get to Deals Gap somehow. Actually it was a side run from a TX to NC
trip that I did twice in that car.
That was when I was a bit younger and gas was a lot less in cost.
