Hell, I have used mine while riding a bicycle at about 10 mph, hands and 
helmet-free of course. :-)

Same with not being able to use them on airplanes. So much for those 
calls on 9/11 under this plan.

It's a tool, just like a sledgehammer or a firearm.
Either one can be used for very good, even life-saving things and also 
the most horrendous things imaginable.

This is just one of many in a long wave of distracting electronic gizmos 
to come. I don't look forward to it, but I agree, turning them off at a 
certain speed is something that I don't want.

I usually agree with both Don and tooloud on most subjects, hmmmmm....
