tips on removing vent shades?

by "Scott H." <sdcvwDELETETHIS@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 1, 2003 at 12:36 PM

I just bought a '94 S10 Blazer and it has those vent shades on it that are
stuck on with double-sided tape. Parts of the shades are stuck directly
onto
the rubber window trim/seals. I'd like to remove these shades so I can
install the lower profile type that fit in the window channel but I don't
want to screw up the rubber trim. I tried pulling on one end to see if I
could get it started pulling loose but that tape seems to be pretty stout
stuff. I thought of possibly using a razor blade under the tape but again
I
don't want the rubber trim to get screwed up or look crappy.

Anyone have any tips, techniques or secrets for doing this?

Thanks,

--
Scott
