My night vision is good and I can see objects without lights on them from 
the moon light, street lights, my own vehicle's lights, etc. Also detail 
is very im****tant for reading the 'body language' of another driver as 
shown through his vehicle.

Also the loss of detail makes it more difficult to determine what sort of 
vehicle is behind you. Not to mention bloting out the subtle differences 
that allow the identification of a police cruiser.
