I had this sort of thing.... ended up having to get one of the wiring
harnesses replaced. There wasn't anything wrong with any of the
components, it was probably just a wire somewhere that was shorting out
causing the light to come on.
The heat generated under the hoods of these cars means that wiring will
deteriorate faster than on many other cars. If it hasn't been done
already on yours, you're probably due.
