intermittent lube oil pressure loss

by "lazza" <marklamb1@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 25, 2006 at 01:40 PM

I have a Japanese FD3S 1994. The dipstick is showing the sump is full.
When the engine is cold, the oil pressure is normal. As the engine
warms up the pressure drops a little as you would expect. My problem
is that I can see the pressure dropping off every now and again when
the engine is hot (not too hot, just normal running temp), sometimes
almost to zero at tick over. I am thinking it might be the oil
pressure relief valve sticking open. It is overdue an oil change, but I
do not expect this symptom from an overdue oil change. I would like to
get hold of some references on the rotary so I can do my own maint
Any ideas.
