Re: intermittent lube oil pressure loss

That seems to have done the trick, Keith.
I was intending to do the oil change soon, but this fault spured me to
get it done earlier. The previous owner told me (in august 05) that it
was due an oil change back then. I have done only 1000 miles in the 7
months I have owned it.
Took it for a hard test drive after the oil change today and all was
normal. At idle the pressure drops to just over 1 Kg/mm2, but onder
power it right up there again.
The old oil was quite thin and black.
I heared a few stories about the problem possibly being related to the
oil pressure gauge connector under the filter. My car does not have
one of these. My filter screws onto a rather large aluminium block and
from this comes a tapping with a tube that runs through the bulkhead to
the pressure gauge, no electrics.
I have found a CD on ebay for a few Pounds, It is proving to be worth
the money.
