GSL-SE axle housing exchange

Hi. I have an '85 GSL-SE. I am having some clunking noises happening with 
the right rear end and took it in to a rotory specialist in Boise. After 
looking at it, they said the axles, suspension, etc. is all fine. The 
problem they claim is that the housing is not straight, it's slightly
bent. 
Ok, so I am looking to replace the housing.
I have access to a rear end from an '84 GS. Will my '85 SE axles, 
third-member, etc. fit in the '84 GS housing? Is the suspension linkage
the 
same? Or will I need to find an SE to make this work?
