Re: intermittent lube oil pressure loss

by "lazza" <marklamb1@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 18, 2006 at 01:18 AM

the problem is returning already.
The oi and filter change was done only last weekend (6 days ago). All
was great up untill last night.
I was having oil presures right up to near the top end of the gauge, 6
out of 8 kg/cm2 under power, and 1 to 2 kg/cm2 at idle.
Last night I parked up and saw the gauge slowly drop to zero, at idle
of somewhere around 1000 rpm.
A stamp on the throttle (not always the best thing to do in a situation
like this) bought the pressure right up again and an idle pressure
between 1 to 2 again.
I suspect a sticky relief valve. I have been told this is on the pupm
housing inside the engine, not on an external pipe elbow somewhere.
Can you think of anything else.
Cheers
