1st Gen RX-7 Carburetors

by "Chad R." <fossil_484@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 22, 2006 at 03:44 AM

Can someone give me a little run down of the carburetor differences for
the 79-85 models? I have 2 carburetors that have been here and there and
I don't know which year model they are. I would like to know for the
purpose of getting the right rebuild kits/parts that I may need. I know
that one has a vacuum solenoid on it and the other doesn't.

Here is another one for you guys:
I have an 82' carburetor that floods the secondaries (but not primaries)
after I turn the key off or stop cranking, I'm not sure which seeing how
I stop cranking and turn the key off in the same motion. Has anybody
else seen this problem before. Should I suspect bad fuel return line,
accelerator pump, or what? I've already cleaned the float needles and I
know those work seeing how nothing comes out when fuel pump is on before
cranking and the float bowl windows are at the appropriate levels.
Basically my question would be, what do I suspect to be the major
malfunction?

Thanks a bunch! Chad
