I realize this is a classic newb question. I got my car a while ago;
the plates recently arrived from the state of California, and I went
into the trunk for the mounting kit they showed me when I got the car.
It's a plastic frame, two screws for the plate-to-the-frame, and one
pointed screw. Something is missing!
I called the sales guy and he said they'd take care of it; what they do
is drill into the front bumper.
What?
Everything I've read has suggested you screw something into the front
grill; not permanent, not making any holes.
I asked him and he insisted, they drill in.
Now, I definitely am putting the front plate on - I've been the rebel
route with my Miata and it just cost me money - so please no need to
suggest that.
If the dealer isn't going to help in a non-damaging way, what are the
options? Is there some standard kit somewhere that everyone buys to do
this? I'm not much of a DIYer, especially with cars, so this very
simple thing - getting my LICENSE PLATE on - has got me a bit stressed,
which is lame, I admit.
Thanks for any help.
