Electrical Problem 89 Vert

by jcbushko@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Nov 27, 2006 at 05:01 AM

I have an 89 convertible, N/A. Yesterday the alternator pegged at 16+
volts and all my warning lights went on. The car seemed to operate
normally and I drove it home.

I change the alternator thinking that the regulator had gone bad. I
also changed the battery for good measure. The alternator guage showed
14v and all the warning lights were off. After about 30 minutes, the
warning lights started blinking and the alt guage dropped to 12v. The
car seemed to work fine with the exception that I don't have any high
beams on the headlights.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

John
