A1GP series calls on Paul Tracy

The Canadian entry in the A1 Grand Prix series has re****tedly approached
Champ
Car driver Paul Tracy about making several guest driving appearances for
the
team in its inaugural campaign.

Autos****t-Atlas re****ts Tracy has been approached by the group which
operates
the team about driving in selected events and are waiting for his response
to
their offer.

Formula Renault UK driver Sean McIntosh currently pilots the Team Canada
car in
the series, which is set up as a competition between countries rather than
constructors and manufacturers. McIntosh finished ninth in the season
opening
race at Brand Hatch last weekend.

Tracy, whose contract is up at the end of this season with Forsythe
Racing, has
yet to confirm his driving future but speculation points towards a NASCAR
career.

While there is no Canadian stop on the A1 calender, the series will make
trips
to Monterrey, Mexico and Laguna Seca in the United States - two tracks
which
Tracy has previous Champ Car experience.



Tracy is not the only high profile driver to be linked to the new series.
Former IRL champion Tony Kanaan is scheduled to drive in some races for
Team
Brazil while Indy 500 winner Dan Wheldon will compete for Team Britain.

The series features such well known names as Nelson Piquet Jr., son of
former
F1 driver Nelson Piquet; Christian Jones, son of former F1 champion Alan
Jones;
former F1 driver Jos Verstappen and F1 test driver Scott Speed.
