The Indy Racing League sent out an urgent internal email in mid-morning

Tuesday, suggesting that Castroneves was trailing Spice Girl Melanie Brown

the voting. It implored IRL employees, partners, teams, etc., to vote as

as legally possible (you could vote online until noon that day) and to=20
encourage all their friends to vote too.
It's not known if the IRL had inside information on the vote count or was=

simply making sure that as many people as possible voted for the
hard-charg=
ing=20
native of Brazil, who's lived for years in Coral Gables, Fla.
One friend of mine who received the email, voted 25 times ? the maximum

possible.

that the best moment came when they announced Castroneves as the winner
