FACTS. its amazing what one can do with them. "dot" clearly has no
clue as to them and how they affected history. definitely facts that
had an impact on todays conditions. as I recall, CART was still
doing pretty well when Craig was running it. I think it was at or
near the end of his tenure that Penske jumped ship to IRL because of
his sponsorship and the whole CART started falling apart. then
Ganassi, andretti/Green...take away all the big player s because
their sponsors only want to play in the Indy 500 advertising game,
and yes, this all does come apart. can't blame CART for that, I
have heard it over and over again lately in the media how the road
course/oval/street course combo that CART/Penske etal put together was
the best combination for open wheel racing in the US. after all, as
Despain pointed out, roundy rounds are an american thing, but
californians sure do love that Long Beach street course. even in the
end, LBGP still was their biggest draw. interesting to see what
their attendance will be this year. I hope it is still good,
regardless.
