This whole argument, starting with Bordais comments (why are we 
listening to an F1 rookie anyhow?), is a waste of space. The situation 
for the ex-Champ car drivers is no different to that experienced by 
those such as Franchitti etc who moved to IRL earlier. They may take a 
few races to come to term with the cars but after that they will slot 
into their appropriate place on the leaderboard according to their 
talent (or lack of it). While this season may not be a true indicator of 
driver standings, by the beginning of 2009 everything should have sorted 
itself out.

As for which series won: neither and both. Ever since the split both 
series have been going down hill. IRL because it didn't have the variety 
in track types and consequently was relatively boring. Champ car because 
it was losing it's best drivers due to lack of funding and a desire to 
race at Indy. TG suddenly came to his senses and realised that the 
novelty had worn off and nobody was interested in his ovoid American 
dream and KK and friends realised that the money bag had a hole in it. 
The only way to keep anyone's dream alive was to try and put it all back 
together again ... quickly. So they did.

Look at 2008 as a necessary rebuilding process and little else. The true 
competition won't start till 2009.

As for Bordais, I'll be surprised if he even qualifies in the top 15 
anytime this year.
