It was the ultimate power grab by TG.  How could it be defined otherwise.

Yes.  Open wheel racing survived because of it.  USAC made the powers of 
CART look like a group of nuclear phusics profs compared to the bungling 
fools in USAC.

I expect that the owners will break loose from TG in the next couple of 
years.  The IRL is terrible on its own.

Champ Car may have made a mistake by allowing the IRL to merge with them 
regardless of the millions of $$ plus all the under the table deals paid 
by TG.
