I don't particularly care for it either, but it is strictly a opinion
thing. I much prefer a NA engine. I recently was looking for a Miata
and some of the 2003 models have them and the sound is very strange.

As I said earlier, I went to Orlando in '96 and no one I talked to
liked the sound. All of these guys were missing the turbo's sound.

I went to several Atlanta races after they changed the exhaust and it
was a great sound  (I'm only going to say this to you, but I prefer a
NA over any turbo race engine), but the best race sound I have ever
heard -- hold on -- was 3 litre F1 engines at Indy in 2000. Even the
back marker teams had a great sound. The Ferrari -- the best racing
engine sound I have ever heard. The echoes between the metal stands
were chilling -- and ear splitting.
