Was that really '96?  In '96 IRL ran turbos.  They were using leftover
CART cars and engines.

F1 usually gets the sensual part right.  I was at the USGP in '00 and
'01.  Engines sounded great.  The BANG-BANG-BANG as they down****fted
into the hairpins sounded great.  The glowing red brakes looked great,
and I'm sure would have sounded great if converted to sound.

NA engines, of course.
