You are 100% forgetting the "green" part of AGR. AGR purchased assets of
Barry Green. While Barry Green stayed in cart up to 2002?, he was racing
yearly at the 500, and had people that been running the IRL cars for
several
years, going all the way back to the year 2000 (and before).
In fact, it was that team that had the disputed 500 win by driver Paul
Tracy!
Andretti's team did not start from scratch, and his people had prior
experience with the IRL cars...
