they sure did. in CART"s heydey there were what four or five
different chassis and three or four different engines. I think I
listed them on another post. chassis:
penske
swift
reynard
AAR
lola
engines:
honda
toyota
ford
chevy
mercedes
when IRL came out there were only two of each in their series. once
the sponsors started heading to IRL, CART's ability to keep multiples
waned. and so eventually did IRL's.
