1998 Toyota Corolla Clutch Job

by "\"Harry Smith\"" <ev1lbastard@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 14, 2008 at 01:58 PM

Hello,

There's this Toyota Corolla that I'm about to do a clutch replacement
on. The body and interior are in rough shape, badly sun damaged, but
the drivetrain is mostly solid. The car has 182,000 miles.

However, the car has had persistent leaks. There was a leaking power
steering hose that needed to be replaced, the valve cover gasket leaks
oil, the oil pan gasket leaks oil, and it looks like the rear main
seal has been leaking as well. The clutch feels slippery and is
probably about shot, so I am planning to remove the transmission, do
the clutch job, and fix all the oil leaks at the same time.

Is there anything else I should think about doing at this time, while
the transaxle is out and everything is accessible? Perhaps motor
mounts? General advice would be appreciated...

Thanks,
Harry
